Dr. Kishore Shallow nominated unopposed to 2nd term as CWI president

Dr. Kishore Shallow has been nominated unopposed to serve a second consecutive term as president of Cricket West Indies (CWI), the second successive election in which he has been elected unopposed.

His new term will officially commence on March 29, 2025, during CWI’s annual general meeting in Antigua.

Shallow will serve alongside Vice President Azim Bassarath, who was also elected unopposed.

Shallow’s nomination came from the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board and the Leeward Islands Cricket Board.

The Jamaica Cricket Association and the Windward Islands Cricket Board backed Bassarath’s nomination.

Shallow’s re-election follows historic governance reforms approved at a special meeting of CWI shareholders on Feb. 9.

The reforms introduced a significant change, increasing the duration of the president and vice president’s term from two years to three years. Additionally, they can serve a maximum of three terms.

As a result, Shallow and Bassarath will become the first president and vice president of CWI to serve three-year terms.
