Following a trial match at the Benjamin Park in Portsmouth on Sunday, the Dominica Cricket Association has selected a cohort of 22 players to commence training at the Dominica Cricket Academy.
In the lone trial match used to select the players, Yawani Regis’ X1 batted first and scored 91 in 36 overs. Shakeem Thomas top-scored with 19 runs. Clemenson LeBlanc and Kishawn Viville with 11 and 9 runs respectively were the other main contributors in the low scoring affair.
Bowling for Stephan Pascal’s X1, Tyrese Leblanc took three wickets and Jahson Vidal claimed two wickets.
At their turn at the crease, Pascal’s X1 scored 130 with Pascal hitting a top score of 49. Kyne George contributed 29 and Anaan Bruno chipped in with 15. Amielle Gilbert and Ashwan Lockhart took three and two wickets respectively.
