Burgins secures golden boots

LA Enterprises Bombers FC went on a goal spree last weekend in the final match of the Dominica Football Association (DFA) Premier Division League.

In a rescheduled encounter on Saturday at the Benjamin Park in Portsmouth, the home team did a number on Exodus FC, which has been relegated to the Division One League next season.

Romario Burgins had a swell time as he found the back of the net on seven different occasions in the 12 nil defeat.

Usher George gave excellent support as he netted twice. Erskim Williams, Oris Mills, and Davone George scored one goal each.

The seven goals by Burgins moved his tally of goals to 14, two more than WE United FC’s Michael Gasper, thus enabling him to capture the Golden Boots award.

Meanwhile, in the Division One League played over the weekend, LA Stars easily brushed aside Itassi FC by five goals to one. Deron James netted a hattrick while there was one goal each for Jaylon Matthew and Aldin Graham.

The other Division One encounter between Harlem United and All Saints FC ended prematurely at the Newtown Savannah on Saturday.

The match official was forced to blow off the game 12 minutes from time after a fight broke out. When the match was blown off, All Saints FC enjoyed two goals to nil advantage.

The DFA will make a determination on the game following the receipt of the match referee’s report.
