Busta Warner boosts playoff hopes

Busta Warner FC scored a major victory in their latest encounter of the 2020 Dominica Football Association Division One League.

On Saturday at the Almond Park in Dublanc, Warner FC edged out Harlem United by five goals to four to remain in contention for a playoff spot.

Erwin Bruno found the back of the net twice for the winners. Bruno was ably supported by Preston Hector, Shardid Alexander, and Yahbui Frederick.

For Harlem, Audel Laville scored two goals and Tyrese Jno Baptiste and Brandel Richards scored one goal each. The one-nil margin of defeat condemned Harlem United to their second defeat in as many matches.

In another encounter on Saturday at the Newtown Playing Field, Belfast Estate Mahuat Soca Strikers FC handed Do It Center Mighty Avengers FC another defeat after securing a five goals to three win.

For Mahaut Soca Strikers FC, Addison Denise scored two goals while one goal came from Jerelle  Laville. The winners benefited from two own goals.

For Mighty Avengers FC Wonnis Hurtault, Sharmony James and Brenton Weekes scored one goal each.

On Sunday in the only encounter possible, Police Sports Club and Kensborough United played to a one-all draw at the Newtown Playing Field. For the lawmen, Miguel George and Kiran Thomas scored one goal each. Ynnocent Love-Son scored both goals for Kensborough. 

The encounter between WE United FC and East-Central FC carded for the Benjamin Park in Portsmouth on Sunday was called off because of a waterlogged outfield.
