Conals register convincing win

Conals and Dubique posted convincing wins last weekend in the 2021 Big Edge Financial Express Gifford Toussaint National Softball Cricket League.

At the Poree Park in Pointe Michel, the experienced Conals made light work of L&O Mahaut en route to securing an eight wickets victory. After winning the toss and inviting their opponents to take the first knock, the Mahaut based team scored 107 all out in 15.5 overs. Ambrose Birmingham hit a top score of 42 while Kensley Seraphine chipped in with 14.

Bowling for Conals, Sherwin Labassiere took four for 23 and Miguel Woodman claimed three for 20. Kelvin Albert gave good support with two for six.

In reply, Conals reach 108 for two with Reginald Seaman leading the way with 40. Kelvin Albert scored 38 and Quan Green supported with 23 runs.

At Center in Grand Bay, Dubique rebounded from their opening encounter defeat as they easily brushed aside Morne Prosper by 70 runs.

Leroy Etienne stroked 52 and Ashwan Lockhart hit an even half-century as Dubique reached 214 for six from their 20 overs. Sarwan Lockhart contributed 44.

Bowling for Morne Prosper Welders, Andy Matthew with two for 20 and Desmond Joseph with two for 23 were the most successful bowlers.

Chasing a victory target of 215, Morne Prosper Welders could only muster 144 all out. Desmond Isles with 51 was the top scorer. Michael Matthew and Andy Matthew scored 22 and 18 runs respectively.
