Eight qualify for Division One playoff

Middle Ham United FC, which was relegated to the Division One League this season, is making a strong bid to return to top-flight football.

After the preliminary rounds of matches in the Division One League, Middle Ham United FC is one of eight clubs that have advanced to the playoff stage.

Middle finished in third position in Group One behind group winners Harlem United and the Police Sports Club in second place. The last spot has been taken up by Mahaut Soca Strikers FC.

East Central FC played unbeaten throughout the season and topped Group Two. LA Enterprises Bombers FC and LA Stars finished in second and third place respectively. Central Cooperative Credit Union LTD Dublanc FC finished in fourth position.

All the qualifying clubs in Group 2 already have a team in the Premier Division for the 2021 season, while Harlem in Group One will also play in the Premier Division.

Soca Strikers FC still has a chance to retain their position in the Premier Division when they engage the beaten Division One finalist in a playoff encounter. Police Sports Club and Middle Ham FC will fancy their chances of gaining promotion.

Meanwhile, in the final two Division, One matches played last weekend, East Central FC and WE United FC played to a two-all draw at the Castle Bruce Playing Field.

Ricardo George and Starel Seraphine scored for East Central FC while Chewie Joseph scored both goals for WE United FC.

In the other match played Denise Charles Pointe Michel defeated All Saints FC by four goals to three at the Newtown Playing Field. Perry Charles scored two goals for the winners, while there was one goal each for Nickson Pacquette and Jerdan Fontaine.

For All Saints FC, Ogsona Pius scored two goals. The other goal was scored by Neigi Lewis.
