Melissa Poponne Skerrit Celtic continued its dominance of local netball on the island. On Wednesday at the hard courts of the Windsor Park Sports Stadium, Celtic secured yet another victory in the 2021 Digicel Big Edge Financial Express Dominica Netball Association Netball League.
Verd Fontaine netted 54 goals from 66 attempts as Melissa Poponne Skerrit Celtic made light work of New India Assurance Celtic by a 40 goals margin. Samantha Hurtault aided the total as she scored four goals from nine attempts in the 58 goals to 14 goals victory.
For New India Assurance Celtic Morelda Andrew was the leading scorer with 12 goals from 20 tries. Brianna Laudat and Brianna Pascal converted one goal each from two and nine tries respectively.
Melissa Magloire of New India Assurance Celtic was adjudged as the player of the game. Brianna Laudat of New India Assurance Celtic and Jade Powell of Melissa Poponne Celtic were two other outstanding players during the game.
When the action continues on Saturday, 19th June 2021 with a doubleheader at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium Wesmar 1 will take on Rapid Security Corporation Scorpions from 3:30 pm. The second encounter, which is expected to begin one hour later, will feature Bambish Toutwels and Wesmar 2.
