In recognition of Dominica’s first and only Olympic Gold Medallist Thea Lafond-Gadson

PRESS RELEASE

The Board of Governors of the Dominica Business Forum Inc. (DBF Inc.) joins the citizens of the Commonwealth of Dominica, at home and abroad, in applauding the nation’s first and only Olympic Gold Medallist Mrs. Thea Lafond-Gadson for her recent achievements in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Mrs. Thea Lafond-Gadson’s accomplishment of being the world’s number one Triple Jumper for 2024 from a world population of 7.951 billion people is no easy feat, especially coming from a small island nation with less than 70,000 inhabitants.

Mrs. Thea Lafond-Gadson’s success is a clear demonstration of determination, perseverance, hard work, discipline, resilience, and all the challenges that she had to overcome to achieve this major milestone and this must serve as a fitting example for the present and future generations to emulate.
The DBF Inc. commends the relevant authorities on their promise to bestow on Mrs. Thea Lafond-Gadson and her team, the nation’s highest award, The National Award of Honour, during the Commonwealth of Dominica 46th Anniversary of Independence on November 3rd, 2024, in recognition of the invaluable contribution that she has made towards the exposure of our beloved nation to the international community.

In further recognition of Mrs. Thea Lafond-Gadson, DBF Inc. will engage her in a private sector event, at a date to be announced, when private sector members will have the opportunity to interact with her and formulate possible plans for future collaboration.
The DBF Inc. compliments the Dominica Olympic Committee, the family, and associates of Mrs. Thea Lafond-Gadson, and all those who have contributed towards her success. Now is the opportune time for the rest of the nation to embrace this Gem Beyond Compare as we bring to life the words of our national anthem of All for Each and Each for All.
Thank you, Mrs. Thea Lafond-Gadson, and may the Good Lord continue to bless and protect you as you pursue your dreams.
