Within the next few months, footballers and fans will have an improved experience when utilizing the football facility at the Stock Farm.
The Dominica Football Association (DFA) was able to secure funding from FIFA to undertake major improvements at the association’s only owned facility.
Earlier this week, representatives of the DFA signed a contract with Activille Tavernier and Associates for improved works which are expected to be completed within a three-month time frame.
The works to be completed will include the construction of a retaining wall on the northern side of the playing field, and a back step for ease of access to the stands. Also, in an effort to reduce the damage to nearby houses caused by the balls, nets will be placed over both goals. The installation of metal railings will also form part of the works which will cost in excess of US$180 000.
Officials of the DFA have indicated that upon completion of the facility it will create a better ambiance as well as ensuring the safety of all users.
Presently, the DFA is in preparation mode for the resumption of the season which was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
So DFA is not covering the stands? How can people come and watch a game at stock farm in hot blazing sun or under rain with no covering? If you all are doing upgrading of the facility then why not cover the stands.
