Netball league matches postponed

The Dominica Netball Association has announced the postponement of all scheduled matches in the 2021 Digicel Big Edge Financial Express National Netball League with immediate effect.

The local netball body was forced to halt its scheduled matches for this week owing to an increase in reported Covid 19 cases on the island. With the increase in reported cases, the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica through Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit made public a series of measures all geared at containing the spread of the deadly virus. One of the measures announced is a 6 pm to 5 am weekday curfew effective 3rd August 2021 and a complete shutdown on Sunday, 8th August 2021.

The netball matches are normally scheduled to be played in the evenings and during the daytime on the weekends.

The games are expected to be rescheduled to a later date once the all-clear is given by the Ministry of Health.

In the meantime, the Dominica Netball Association is therefore appealing to all Dominicans to adhere to the Covid 19 protocols by maintaining physical distancing, frequent washing, and sanitizing of hands.
