Petro Caribe Pointe Michel FC and Derby Boys FC made winning starts to the 2023 Dominica Football Association Division One League.
Both clubs recorded comprehensive victories on Wednesday evening as the DFA’s second competition for the season kicked off.
At Almond Park in Dublanc, it was all Pointe Michel FC as they easily brushed aside South Dominators by nine goals to one. National player Marcus Bredas registered a hattrick while there were two goals apiece for DeAndre Lawrence and Donte Warrington. Demiro Jno Lewis and Greg Jno Baptiste converted one goal each for the winners. Kobie Moreau converted the lone goal for South Dominators FC.
In the other match, which was contested at Benjamin Park, Derby Boys FC secured all three points as they defeated Wayne George Academy by four goals to one. Jahmo Bellot, Noah Philbert, Marvin Leblanc, and Micah Eusebe scored one goal each for Derby Boyz FC. Steve Mesidor scored for WGFA.
When the action continues this evening at Benjamin Park in Portsmouth, Wooty Blazers FC will take on Marigot United FC from 6:30 pm.
