Positive COVID-19 cases force cancellation of national Under-17 team tour

The Executive Committee of the Dominica Football Association (DFA) has been forced to cancel its participation in a regional tournament.

The national under 17 team was due to travel to Barbados on Sunday en route to the IMG in Miami to participate in the 2021 CONCACAF Under 17 Women’s qualifiers.

According to the DFA, the decision was made after some members of the touring party tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

The players and staff were tested on Friday, 8th October 2021 and the results were received on Saturday, 9th October 2021.

The individuals affected will undergo a period of isolation as per protocol.

The Executive Committee wishes the individuals a speedy and full recovery. A total of seven individuals including five players and two staff tested positive.
