South East and WE United remain unbeaten  

Defending Premier Division champions, Sagicor South East FC has finished unbeaten in the preliminary round of the 2022 Dominica Football Association President’s Cup. In their final Group C encounter on Sunday at the Stock Farm Sports Complex, the Patrick John Cup champions made it five wins in as many outings. 

In the second match of the doubleheader, South East defeated Petro Caribe Pointe Michel FC by six goals to one. National player, Joslen Prince was again on the score sheet as he found the back of the net twice. Rai Phillip, Coaan Lockhart, Javid George, and Davon George all scored one goal each. 

Randolph Peltier scored the lone goal for Pointe Michel FC. With the defeat, Pointe Michel FC remains on six points with two more preliminary round matches to go. 

In the day’s first encounter, Tranquility Beach Middleham United FC and Central Cooperative Credit Union Dublanc FC played to a nil-all draw. With the draw, Middleham FC is in danger of not advancing to the second round of competition as they remain on five points from four encounters. Dublanc FC tops Group A with 10 points, La Stars FC is on 9 points, Blue Waters Bath Estate FC has amassed 7 points while Tarish United FC and Calibishie Diaspora FC have three and zero points respectively. All the clubs have one match left in the preliminary round. 

On Saturday, Valvoline WE United FC maintained their unbeaten record as they defeated Belfast Estate Mahaut Soca Strikers FC by one goal to nil at the Stockfarm Sports Complex. The lone goal of the match was converted by Michael Gasper. 

Impressive win for the champs! 

Division One champions, Alley Boys came from behind to secure an impressive victory in the 2022 Element Agencies Guinness Knock Out Domino competition. Alley Boys showed their class as they secured victory from the jaws of defeat when they defeated veteran club Swansea by 40 points. With Swansea needing 50 points for a victory and Alley Boys needing over 200 points, it was Alley Boys that kept their nerves to win the keenly contested affair. The league champions totaled 3002 points while Swansea reached 2962 points. With the win, Alley Boys booked their spot in the quarterfinals of the competition. 

Weekend Domino action

In other results, Golden Arms booked their spot in the last eight as they defeated Palm Boys by 708 points. Score in the game, Golden Arms 3009 points, Palm Boys 2301 points, 

Giants Defeated Unique Rockers by a final score of 3007 points to 2585 points. In another encounter, One Love made easy work of Tarreau winning that encounter by a final score of 3004 points to 2451 points. Sonny Boys defeated Team Rayneau. The winners reached 3010 points while Team Rayneau reached 2352 points. Rebels got the better of RT Construction by a final score of 3004 points to 2442 points.  

Meanwhile, a total of 8 teams have advanced to the quarterfinal round. The teams advancing are Alley Boys, Golden arms, Giants, One Love, White City, Sonny Boys, Rebels, and Fire Services.
