Spirited Dominica aims for a better result in the second game against Bermuda

By DFA Media

As Dominica gets set to face Bermuda in game two of the Concacaf Nations League in Bermuda, senior national player Travis Joseph is expressing confidence that the team that went down to Bermuda 6-1 in the first encounter is ready to bounce back and win game two.

Joseph scored the lone goal for Dominica in that encounter and said they have gone back to the drawing board and are ready for action.

Training has been good so far; the first game results did not go our way and hence we had to go back to the drawing board. At this our last training we looked at what did not work for us, where we went wrong in the first game to strengthen us for the next game.

He was the lone goal scorer for Dominica in its 6-1 loss to Bermuda and said that in that game he had “three shots at goal” but admitted that in the first two shots, he could have done better with “a little more patience and composure”.

“I just want to have more patience and composed in the second game and if I get three chances, try my best to make them count,” he said.

To the Dominican public, he stated, “Keep supporting us give us the strength, encouragement, and motivation we need all of this and we will try our best to make you proud and bring victory home,” Joseph.

He also called on his teammates to “keep their heads up, put the last game behind you, this is sports and the results can’t always go your way, let’s work hard together and always remember unity is strength,” he remarked.

Meantime Coach Ellington Sabin said that the team is starting fresh and all is set after the final training for the second game against Bermuda.

“We have put the first game behind us, we have also made some adjustments for the second game which will be a test of the team’s resilience as we look at the player’s ability and how well they perform,” he said.

The final training session before tonight’s game he said went “well and the players were very receptive to the information given and he will now see how that is executed.”

Coach Sabin called on the Dominican public to “continue supporting us, we keep aiming to do our best our last game was not the results that we wanted or aimed for, that being said we don’t expect such result to repeat itself in the second game and we will be putting the effort for a better result.”

Also adding his voice is assistant coach Delroy Watt, the fitness trainer for the team. He explained that since the last game in preparation for the final game, he and the team’s doctor combined to put on some muscle activation exercises for the second encounter.

“All this has been done and the team is in high spirits, physically ready, and is expected to put on a much better performance to our Dominican fans, I can assure you that the team will be putting on a much better performance as we take on Bermuda for a second time,” Watt stated.

The game is set to kick off at 6:30 pm Caribbean time, which is 7:30 pm Bermuda time.
