Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles

Valid from: 6:00 AM on Friday, December 31, 2021

A southward moving shear line is expected to continue to produce an increase in cloudiness with some scattered showers, mainly across the northern and central portions of the Lesser Antilles, including Dominica, mainly during the morning period. However, a relative reduction in shower activity can be expected during the afternoon. Breezy conditions will be evident.

Moderate seas are anticipated during the next 24 hours, with waves peaking to 8.0ft. A small craft advisory is in effect. Small craft operators and sea bathers along the eastern coastline should exercise caution due to north-easterly swells.

Please note that a greater degree of cloudiness, more frequent rainfall and higher rainfall amounts are normally experienced across the east coast and interior of Dominica.
