Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles
Valid from: 6:00 AM on Tuesday, August 24, 2021
A high pressure system is expected to remain dominant across the northern half of the Lesser Antilles, including Dominica, during the next 24 hours resulting in occasional cloudiness and a few showers across these islands. Meanwhile, unstable conditions associated with an area of low pressure and a tropical wave are expected to maintain cloudiness with showers and possible thunderstorms across the islands to the south.
An increase in dust haze concentration will persist across the area during the next 24 hours. People with respiratory sensitivities should take all precautions to avoid complications.
Moderate seas are anticipated during the next 24 hours with wave heights decreasing to 7.0ft later today. A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for above normal seas on the east coast. Small craft operators and sea bathers on the east coast should exercise caution.
Please note that a greater degree of cloudiness, more frequent rainfall, and higher rainfall amounts are normally experienced across the east coast and interior of Dominica.
