Synopsis: Weak unstable conditions are affecting the island

Forecast for Today and Tonight:

Partly cloudy to cloudy and slightly hazy with a few showers and a slight chance of isolated afternoon thunderstorms

Wind: Easterly to East south easterly @ 15 to 30 km/h with higher gusts near showers

Sea Conditions: Moderate in open water

Waves: 1.5 to 2.5 meters or 5.0 to 8.0 feet.

Warning/Advisory: A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect along the eastern coast

Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles

Valid from: 6:00 AM on Wednesday, October 13, 2021

Moisture and instability trailing a tropical wave are expected to maintain increased cloudiness with scattered showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms mainly across the northern portion of the Lesser Antilles today. A reduction in shower activity is expected across Dominica. A high pressure system is expected to be dominant tonight.

An increase in dust haze concentration is expected during the next 24 hours resulting in a reduction in visibility and air quality. People with respiratory sensitivities are advised to take all precautions to avoid complications

Moderate seas are anticipated during the next 24 hours with swells near 8.0ft. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect. Small craft operators and sea bathers on the east coast should exercise caution.
