Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles

Valid from 6:00 AM on Wednesday, October 20, 2021

Unstable conditions are expected to result in cloudiness and scattered showers across the island mainly during the cooler morning period. However, a high-pressure system is expected to result in a relative drying out of the atmosphere as the day progresses. Thereafter, from late afternoon to overnight, a tropical wave is expected to generate an increase in cloudiness with scattered showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms. People in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks should be on alert as localized conditions could enhance shower activity during the period

Slight dust haze is projected during today.

Slight to moderate seas are anticipated during the next 24 hours with waves peaking near 5.0ft. An increase in wind speeds and wave heights can be expected on Thursday

Please note that a greater degree of cloudiness, more frequent rainfall, and higher rainfall amounts are normally experienced across the east coast and interior of Dominica.
