Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles

Valid from: 6:00 AM on Friday, July 12, 2024

A tropical wave is expected to begin affecting the island from this afternoon. This is expected to result in an increase in cloudiness with scattered showers which could be moderate to heavy at times with possible thunderstorms. People in areas prone to flooding, landslides, and falling rocks are advised to be on alert and to exercise caution.

A varying concentration of dust haze is expected over the next few days. A significant increase can be expected from Saturday into Sunday resulting in a reduction in air quality. People with respiratory sensitivities are advised to take the necessary precautions to avoid complications. Fisherfolks are advised to use the necessary devices for safe navigation due to reduced visibility when venturing out to sea.

Slight to moderate seas can be expected in open water with waves peaking near 7ft during the period.
