Long-distance runners on the island will have the chance to search for glory this weekend when the Pioneers Athletics Club stages its 10th Annual Fox Mile Race. The one-mile race will begin at Gallette and end at the jetty in Scotts Head.
The race will begin at 3 pm and is expected to attract athletes from the under 11, under 13, under 15, under 18, under 23, under 30, and under 40 categories. Athletes over 40 are also expected to participate in the 10th race of its kind.
Athletes under 18 will pay a registration fee of EC$3, while those above 18 will register at a fee of EC$5. The fees will be used to source much-needed training equipment for the club.
Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in all the different categories.
The race is being made possible with the kind sponsorship from the Sports Division, Reuben’s Bakery, and Dr. Damien Dublin.
