Walson Josiah Pacquette does not separate the classroom from the track. A physical education instructor and sports administrator from Grand Bay, Dominica, he has spent his career building bridges between education, athletic excellence, and the professional standards that make both possible. At 39, he moves fluidly between roles as a teacher, coach, technical official, and executive leader, treating each as part of a single coherent commitment: developing Dominican sport from the ground up.
Pacquette’s roots lie in teaching. As a senior Physical Education and Sports teacher at Pierre Charles Secondary School, he also serves as the school’s Sports Coordinator and coach, shaping young athletes at a formative stage when character and discipline take hold. His classroom impact was recognised with Dominica’s Secondary Schools Physical Education and Sports Teacher of the Year award in 2011, 2012, and 2013, three consecutive years that attest to sustained excellence rather than a single standout season.
