Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a road traffic accident involving a pickup van and a car that occurred in Les Point on August 6, 2024.
The car involved in the accident in Les Point was extensively damaged
Traffic was stopped as the rescue team arrived on the scene attempting to help those involved.
According to police, “at about 6:45 am, 43-year-old Wayne Bertrand of Pottersville was driving his Honda Fit car in a northerly direction when Fred John of Salisbury who resides at Warner was driving a Toyota Hilux Pickup in a southerly direction on the E.O LeBlanc Highway at Les Point with a passenger when the two vehicles collided.”
“Both vehicles received extensive damages to their right front sides and the driver and passenger of the pickup were unharmed and were transported to the Dominica China Friendship Hospital (DCFH) for medical attention along with the driver of the Honda Fit who was examined and pronounced dead by a medical doctor at the hospital.”
The police are extending condolences to the family and friends of the deceased Wayne Bertrand of Pottersville.
