We are pleased to announce that the Holy Father, Pope Francis, has appointed the Reverend Father Kendrick JOHN FORBES of the Archdiocese of Nassau, as the new Bishop of the Diocese of Roseau in the Commonwealth of Dominica.

Msgr. Kendrick John Forbes was born on 20 August 1975 in Nassau, Bahamas, and was the Vicar General, Judicial Vicar, and Parish Priest of Saint Paul in Nassau Bahamas.
The news of his appointment was made public at the Vatican today, Thursday, 02 May 2024, at noon (Italian time). We welcome the New Bishop Elect as he prepares to take charge of the Diocese of Roseau.
According to regulation, the Bishop-Elect has up to three months within which to prepare for his Episcopal Ordination. The date will be announced in due time.

The Rev. Kendrick Forbes was born in Nassau, Bahamas, on August 20, 1975. After attending primary school (Clarence Town All Age School) and secondary school (NGM Major High School, Buckley) in Long Island, he moved to Indiana (United States) to train for the priesthood at the “St. Meinrad College Seminary” where he completed his initial studies, earning a bachelor’s degree in history. He then obtained a Master of Divinity (MDiv) and a Master of Theology from “St. Meinrad School of Theology”. He also obtained a Licentiate in canon law from the Catholic University of America and was ordained priest in Nassau on 1 June 2002. He held the following functions:
2002-2004: Associate to the Cathedral Rector
2004-2006: Rector of the Cathedral
From 2004: Judicial Vicar of the Archdiocese of Nassau
2006-2009: Parish priest of Holy Family Catholic Church
From 2009: Parish Priest of St. Paul the Apostle Church
From 2012: Chairman Archdiocesan Review Board
From 2015: Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Nassau
