The executive of the Dominica Cricket Association (DCA) has invoked Article 24 (C) 2. (b) of the DCA Constitution and fired Delvin Esprit as a member of its executive.
In March of this year, Esprit joined the new 9-member executive of the DCA at its annual general meeting.
Esprit has in the past been very critical of the DCA and its operations reports that even after becoming a member of the executive, he failed to tone down his public comments and was written to on two occasions of his transgressions but refused to relent.
See below the Press release from the DCA on its decision.
To whom it may concern
“Please be notified that through a resolution which was duly moved and acceded by eight (8) members present at the meeting of the board of directors on May 23, 2023, Mr. Delvin Esprit was removed as a Director of the Dominica Cricket Association Inc.
(DCA) by Article 24 (C) 2. (b) of the DCA Constitution which dictates that “the board shall by majority resolution remove an officer who in the opinion of the officers of the board has brought the board into disrepute or who in the opinion of the officers causes disharmony among the board rendering the operation of the board impossible.”
Based on the aforementioned, the Dominica Cricket Association Inc. wishes to disassociate itself from previous and future comments which may have been or will be made by the individual and to further inform that any actions or statements made do not in any way represent the position of the Board of Directors.“
Nature Isle News (NIN) will be seeking to get a response from Delvin Esprit on this latest development.
