Indian fugitive Mehul Choski who has been embroiled in a legal battle in his adopted country Antigua remains a patient at the Dominica China Hospital under police security.
Choski is wanted in his country of birth India on 11 fraud charges.
He went missing in Antigua on May 21 and on May 23 mysteriously surfaced in Dominica and alleges that he was kidnapped.
Police in Dominica has since charged him with illegal entry into Dominica and the magistrate’s court has denied him bail deeming him a flight risk.
Because of his health conditions he is a patient at the hospital instead of the Stock Farm Prison on remand.
He has pleaded not guilty to the charge and the matter is Dominica for trial on June 14, 2021 in Roseau.
Chief Magistrate Candia Carette-George has ordered that he be brought down to court every three days until he is discharged from the hospital for further reviews.
He will be back in court Monday June 7, 2021 at 9 am for a further review of his bail conditions.
