Tarreau Youth pleads guilty to theft at Fresh Market

Brandon Xavier aged 22 of Tarreau has been fined $500.00 to be paid by November 30, 2022, and, in default, he will go to jail for two (2) months.

According to the facts of the case presented by police prosecutor Inspector Francis Laville, on October 22, 2022, at about 5:30 pm, Xavier entered the Super Market of Fresh Market and purchased a few items….toothpaste, vaseline, disinfectant spray ( he paid for these) he also had in his basket ramen, dishwashing liquid, mac & cheese and chocolate valued at ($51.15) he did not pay for.

After passing the cashier, he was approached by a security guard who requested his receipt and questioned him about the other items in his possession he responded, “I did not pay for them since I did not have enough money.”

A search on him found two hundred dollars. The police were called and he was arrested.

In court, he pleaded guilty and told the court he did not have enough money to pay for the other items.

Before passing sentence on him, Chief Magistrate Candia Carette George stated, “I would want to believe that you made a mistake, but let me warn you that in the future, buy what your money can afford, you have pleaded guilty and not wasted the courts time, try to behave yourself.”

He was fined $500.00 to be paid on or before November 30, 2022, in default he will go to jail for 2 months.
