Grand Bay Primary School to be renamed Edward Registe Primary School

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has disclosed that the Grand Bay Primary School will be renamed after the late Edward “Ed” Registe the parliamentary representative who died suddenly.

At a brief ceremony in Grand Bay over the weekend, Skerrit the leader of the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) stated that Registe was a passionate individual about the Grand Bay Primary School and it pains him to Registe will not be there to see the results of the project for which he has been truly passionate.

“This particular project, I believe, will be completed in memory of Ed and will be regarded as a tangible example of the projects he championed while alive,” Skerrit said.

“When the Grand Bay Primary School is completed, it shall be renamed the Edward Registe Primary School.”

At that function, a plaque was also unveiled in memory of the late former DLP General Secretary and Grand Bay Member of Parliament.

Skerrit disclosed that in Cabinet, Registe was committed to the development of every single constituent. “Every corner of this vast constituency was important to him and he had specific ideas for development in agriculture, infrastructure, education, housing, sports, and the care of the elderly and other vulnerable constituents,” he stated.

He also revealed that in memory of the late Edward Registe, five (5) scholarships will be awarded to students from Grand Bay to attend the Pierre Charles Secondary School (PCSC) and shall be awarded annually.
