The Antigua Combined Schools secured a comprehensive victory in the 2022 Schoolboys Cricket Series T20 competition. On Monday at the Benjamin Park in Portsmouth, the Antigua Combined Schools defeated the Dominica Combined Schools by 10 wickets to take an unbeatable two-nil series lead in the best of three-match series.
After winning the toss and inviting the home team to take the first knock, Yawani Regis hit a top score of 48 as he helped his team reach 83 for eight. Jahson Vidal chipped in with 16.
Bowling for the visitors Xaveek Toppin bagged three for 15 in his four overs. Ajahrie Joseph gave good support with two for 21 from his four overs. Demetri Lucas and Shamar Pereira with one for 17 each gave good support.
In reply, the visitors made the total look easy as they cruised to 83 without loss from 6.4 overs. Melique Jacobs with an unbeaten 64 was responsible for the bulk of the batting. Dravid Richardson gave good support with 12 runs.
The third and final match in the series will take place on Wednesday at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.
The Dominica Combined Schools won the 40-over contest by three games to two after losing the two opening matches.
