Several experienced and young players have been named in a training unit announced by the Dominica Cricket Association to participate in the 2022 Windward Islands Senior Cricket tournament scheduled to bowl off later this year.
The training unit also includes Alick Athanaze who is currently on duty with the West Indies A-Team. Windward Islands captain, Kavem Hodge as well as Tahj Tavernier are also included.
Veteran players, Mervin Matthew, Kevin James, and Vivian Titre have been invited to the trial matches. Stephan Pascal and Edmund Morancie, who are currently in St. Vincent and the Grenadines representing the Windward Islands under 19 teams have been named by the selection panel.
The first trial match is scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday at Benjamin Park in Portsmouth from 10 am. The two-day encounter is the first in a series of matches that will be used to select the national team.

Dominica claims its first victory
The Dominica Combined Schools recorded its first victory against Antigua Combined Schools in the third game of the 2022 Schoolboys Cricket Series currently being contested in Dominica.
After narrowly losing the first two encounters, the home team bounced back nicely on Tuesday with a huge win at Benjamin Park in Portsmouth.
The visitors won the toss and elected to take the first knock and were bundled out for 90 runs in 33.4 overs of the 40 overs per side affair. Shamar Pereira hit a top score of 28. Demetri Lucas aided the total with 19.
Bowling for the home team, Tyrese Leblanc was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed three for 14. Morell Burton gave excellent support as he bagged two for six.
In reply, Dionne Rolle hit a top score of 33 as Dominica Combined Schools reached 96 for three in 32.3 overs to secure a seven wickets win. Former West Indies under 15 player Yawani Regis was unbeaten on 27.
Bowling for Antigua Combined Schools Dravid Richardson was the most successful bowler as he claimed one for eight.
