As Dominica joins the rest of the world in observing “International Women’s Day” on March 8, 2022, Cheryl Rolle and SAGICOR Insurance decided to surprise some women who have been on the front line of fighting COVID-19 in Dominica.
According to Manager of SAGICOR Life Dominica Cheryl Rolle in an exclusive interview with Nature Isle News (NIN) explained that it was the company’s way of saying “thank you” to the many women who have been at the forefront fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We wish we were able to give everyone something, but although this is just a small gesture, we are happy to honour some of these women on International Women’s Day,” she said.
Driving with her staff, all those who were given a bouquet of flowers and an envelop with a small contribution from the insurance company were “shocked and surprised” but expressed joy and appreciation at the gesture from the insurance company.
The Dominica Nurses Association (DNA) was gifted with a laptop computer personally from Cheryl Rolle. Treasurer of the DNA Nurse Kimberly Alfred thanked her for the donation and stated that it had come at a good time as it will help them in organizing their “database” of the DNA.
Dr. Portia Meade a medical doctor was met at her home, while Fire Officer Raymond was met at her workplace along with her staff. Nurse Roach was caught off guard at Do It Center and Nurse Roberts at her workplace at the Roseau Health Center.
Excellent goings.
