East Central FC and Harlem United to play in Division One rematch

For the second year in a row, the finals of the Division One League will be contested between the same clubs.

Last year’s championship matchup featured East Central FC and Harlem United and this year will be no different. This time around, East Central FC will not be vying to gain promotion to the Premier Division since both clubs are already in the Premier Division.

East Central FC booked their spot in the final with a comfortable three goals to one victory over Middle Ham United FC on Wednesday at the Benjamin Park in Portsmouth.

Ricardo George, D’Shaun James and Jason Joseph scored one goal each for the winners.

East Central FC and Harlem United will clash in the finals on Sunday from 3 pm at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium. Harlem had earlier booked their spot in the finals with a comfortable victory over LA Starz FC.

Beaten semi-finalists Middle Ham United FC and LA Starz FC still have two more opportunities to gain promotion to the Premier Division for the 2021 season. These two clubs will have the first opportunity to gain promotion when they clash in a playoff. The winner of that match will automatically gain promotion to the Premier Division.

The loser of that first playoff encounter will have a second opportunity when they take on Belfast Estate Mahaut Soca Strikers FC. The winner of this other playoff will gain the other spot in the Premier Division.
