Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles
Valid from: 6:00 AM on Tuesday, August 3, 2021
A weak high-pressure system is expected to rebuild across the area today producing occasional cloudiness and a few showers. Meanwhile, light winds and strong daytime heating could produce isolated moderate to heavy showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms across parts of the island during the afternoon.
An increase in dust haze concentration is expected across the area today, resulting in a reduction in visibility.
People with respiratory sensitivities should take the necessary precautions to avoid complications. All are advised to take measures to minimize heat-related stress.
Slight to moderate seas are anticipated during the next 24 hours with waves peaking to 5.0ft.
Please note that a greater degree of cloudiness, more frequent rainfall, and higher rainfall amounts are normally experienced across the east coast and interior of Dominica.
