Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles
Valid from: 6:00 AM on Thursday, October 21, 2021
Unstable conditions following the passage of a tropical wave are expected to maintain an increase in cloudiness with scattered showers and a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms across the area mainly during the morning. However, a high-pressure system is expected to result in a relative decrease in moisture levels as the day progresses.
Dust haze is projected across the area during the next 24 hours resulting in reduced visibility. People with respiratory sensitivities are advised to take the necessary precautions.
Moderate seas are anticipated during the next 24 hours with waves peaking near 7.0ft. A further increase in wind speeds and wave heights can be expected on Friday. Small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to exercise caution.
Please note that a greater degree of cloudiness, more frequent rainfall, and higher rainfall amounts are normally experienced across the east coast and interior of Dominica.
