Synopsis: A surface trough will be affecting the area

Forecast for Today and Tonight:

Fair to occasionally cloudy with a few showers and a chance of isolated afternoon thunderstorms

Sea Conditions: Slight to moderate in open water

Waves: 1.0 to 1.5 meters or 3.0 to 5.0 feet.

Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles

A surface trough is expected to affect the area during the next 24 hours resulting in periods of cloudiness, showers and isolated thunderstorms particularly during the late afternoon into the overnight period. A relative drying out of the atmosphere can be expected during tomorrow as the day progresses. Thereafter, from Wednesday afternoon to overnight, a tropical wave is expected to generate some scattered showers across the island, with a chance of isolated thunderstorms.

Slight dust haze is projected for Wednesday.

Slight to moderate seas are anticipated during the next 24 hours with waves peaking near 5.0ft. An increase in wave heights is expected on Thursday.

Please note that a greater degree of cloudiness, more frequent rainfall, and higher rainfall amounts are normally experienced across the east coast and interior of Dominica.
