Customs officials are being praised after they were successful in detecting a Nigerian national who arrived in Dominica this week with what appeared to be drugs in his stomach.
According to reports, the Nigerian while being questioned by customs about the contents of his baggage, appeared suspicious and was further interrogated by customs.
After the interrogation, he was taken to hospital to do a scan and it revealed 81 packages of what appeared to be cocaine in his stomach. He was given medication to have it removed and after testing the contents returned a positive test for cocaine.
He has since been arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and also trafficking of cocaine and will appear before the Magistrate’s court today where the charges will be read to him.
