The Mahaut Soca Strikers FC has completed the quarterfinal lineup of the 2022 Dominica Football Association President’s Cup. In the final round of 16 encounters on Tuesday evening at the Stockfarm Sports Complex, the lads from Mahaut booked their spot in the last eight with victory over St. Joseph FC on penalty kicks.
After 120 minutes of football, including 30 minutes of extra time, the score remained at two goals all and headed for kicks from the penalty spot. After eight kicks, it was Soca Strikers FC that prevailed by five goals to three for seven goals to five aggregate wins. The two regulation-time goals for Soca Strikers FC came from the boots of Francis Luke and Jameson Defore. Ali Marie and Linton Marshall scored one each for St. Joseph FC.
The clubs making it to the quarter-finals are, Petro Caribe Pointe Michel FC, Central Cooperative Credit Union Dublanc FC, Valvoline WE United FC, Tranquility Beach Middleham United FC, Promex Harlem United, Sagicor South East FC, Connect 767 East Central FC, and Mahaut Soca Strikers FC.
The quarterfinal matches will be contested this weekend.
