Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles

Valid from: 6:00 AM on Saturday, October 12, 2024

A ridge pattern is expected to remain the dominant feature across the area today. Low-level clouds within the wind flow and some weak upper-level activity could generate a few light showers and a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms across the area today.

An increase in Saharan dust expected during the weekend is expected to result in a decrease in air quality and visibility. People with respiratory sensitivities are advised to take the necessary precautions to avoid complications.

Northeasterly swells are expected to persist along the eastern coastline during the next 24 hours. Slight to moderate seas, with swells reaching up to 7 feet, are expected. Small-craft operators and sea bathers along the northern through eastern coast should exercise caution due to onshore breaking wave action.
