The police in Dominica continue to make arrests as it relates to the March 19, 2025 protest by persons who were agitating the passage of the Electoral Reform Bill, which was passed in the Dominica Parliament.
Nature Isle News (NIN) can confirm that the former member of the Dominica Parliament and a member of the Electoral Reform Colition (ERC), Johnson Boston, was arrested by the police.
Boston has been a major player in the ERC and was part of the call for the protest action on March 19, 2025.
Attorney-at-law Joshua Francis is heading the team of lawyers along with Ronald Charles, who are representing Boston and a number of those arrested.
Boston becomes the third former legislator arrested by the police relating to the March 19, 2025 protest action. Former Salisbury MP Hector “Spags” John spent last weekend in police custody and is now on a $30,000.00 bail after he appeared in court on March 24, 2025. The other is Daniel “Danny” Lugay, the former member for the Roseau North constituency who was arrested by the police on March 25, 2025, and remains in custody, expecting to make a court appearance on March 27, 2025.
NIN understands that due to his “medical conditions,” Boston is now being processed and interviewed by the police to have him released and appear in court on March 27, 2025. At present, two women remain in custody, having been arrested on March 25, 2025, and are expected to appear in court on March 27, 2025.
Nature Isle News (NIN) can confirm that more arrests, including other women, are expected within the next 72 hours.
