Miled Gamil Boutros, a 51-year-old United States citizen, has been arrested and charged for kidnapping and attempted murder of 49-year-old Egyptian national Ahmed Sheref.
According to the prosecution, between March 24, 2025, and April 4, 2025, at Castle Bruce, Boutros kidnapped and attempted to murder Sheref, who is now a patient at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital (DCFH), suffering from injuries he is alleged to have sustained when he was shot by Boutros.
He is represented by lawyers Wayne Norde and Gina Abraham Thomas in the matter.
He appeared before Chief Magistrate Candia Carette George, where the charges were read to him. He was not required to enter a plea since both charges are indictable and must be heard at the high court before a judge and jury.
His lawyer did not petition the court for a bail application on his behalf, and the matter was adjourned to August 8, 2025, in Castle Bruce. In the meantime, Boutros has been remanded at the State’s Prison in Stock Farm pending the preliminary inquiry into the matter.
