
Chairman of the Police Welfare Association (PWA) David Andrew Jr has extended “congratulations to the acting Chief of Police Lincoln Corbette and his acting deputy Jeffrey James.
Corbette and James will serve in their news post for the next six (6) months as the government seeks to appoint a new Police Chief to replace Daniel Carbon.
Davidson Valeire held the post of acting Police Chief for the past 18 months but has since gone on pre-retirement leave.
Andrew, who holds the rank of sergeant of police, describes Corbette as ” an experienced police officer who is no stranger to the top job of Police Chief.”
“He has served in many positions within the organization and I believe with his knowledge, experience, qualifications, and expertise, the police force is placed in a good position for future development,” he said.
“I also want to congratulate Jeffrey James, another senior and well-experienced officer who has also served in many capacities who, with his knowledge and expertise, will see the police force going places, and they will also complement each other,” He stated.
He also placed on record and that of the PWA his profound gratitude to Davidson Valerie who held the post of acting police chief for the past 18 months and has since gone on pre-retirement leave.
“Best wishes to Mr. Valerie on his retirement and his 39 years of service to the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF).
