Religion-Pope names Archbishop Gordon for Curacao post

ARCHBISHOP Charles Jason Gordon was appointed Apostolic Administrator for the Diocese of Willemstad in CuraƧao.

The announcement was made yesterday in a release by the Antilles Episcopal Conference Secretariat (AEC).

The release stated that Gordon’s appointment as Apostolic Administrator, which came from the Pope, is one of a Bishop appointed by the Pope to see the good order and administration of a diocese awaiting the appointment of a permanent Bishop.

The release also stated that Gordon remains as president of the Antilles Episcopal Conference (AEC) and the Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Port of Spain, under which the Suffragan Diocese of the Willemstad belongs. It said the province of Port of Spain also includes the Suffragan Diocese of Georgetown, Guyana; Bridgetown, Barbados; and Paramaribo, Suriname.

Archbishop Gordon shared his latest accomplishment on his social media page with many followers congratulating him.
