Dominica announces major airlift expansion across US, UK and Caribbean markets

PRESS RELEASE

ROSEAU, Dominica, (December 17, 2025)— The Ministry of Tourism and Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) announces a major expansion in air access for the 2025–2026 winter season. Increased service from United Airlines, American Airlines, LIAT, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, and Caribbean Airlines will enhance international and regional connectivity to the Nature Island and support growing demand for travel to Dominica.

United Airlines now offers a combination of daily and nonstop options. The carrier operates 2x weekly nonstop flights from Newark, NJ (EWR → DOM) and daily 1-stop service. This expanded schedule improves access from major United States hubs.

American Airlines will begin 2x daily nonstop flights from Miami, FL (MIA → DOM) starting December 18. This added service strengthens Dominica’s presence in the North American market and supports peak winter and holiday travel demand.

LIAT has introduced 2x weekly nonstop flights from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, beginning December 16. This new route enhances inter-island mobility and supports Dominica’s multi-destination strategy.

Dominica will also benefit from a daily 1-stop service with British Airways and Virgin Atlantic. These routes provide convenient long-haul connectivity for travelers from the United Kingdom and Europe.

Contour Airlines offers nonstop jet service connecting Dominica with St. Thomas and San Juan, with 3x weekly flights between St. Thomas and Dominica and 4x weekly flights between Dominica and San Juan. Caribbean Airlines will continue operating its 3x weekly service between San Juan and Dominica through January 10, 2026. These connections serve visitors, returning nationals, and the Diaspora with increased travel flexibility

Dominica will maintain additional regional links through Sunrise Airways, InterCaribbean Airways, and WINAIR. These carriers provide steady service across the Caribbean and support reliable year-round access.

“The enhanced airlift reflects our commitment to improving Dominica’s connectivity and ensuring that travel to the Nature Island becomes easier for visitors and nationals,” said Hon. Denise Charles-Pemberton, Minister for Tourism. “These new and expanded routes support our tourism growth goals and strengthen Dominica’s position in the regional and international travel market.”

The strengthened air service supports Dominica’s broader tourism strategy by improving visitor access, expanding market reach, and stimulating economic activity across hospitality, transportation, and the wider tourism sector. The added connectivity also makes it easier for travelers to experience Dominica’s waterfalls, hot springs, hiking trails, marine life, and world-renowned adventure offerings.
