PRESS RELEASE
The Dominica Consumer Protection Association is delighted to announce the successful
hosting of the Complaints Handling & Advocacy Clinic on November 27, 2023. The event, held virtually, was attended by an engaged audience of consumers, industry professionals, and advocates.
The Complaints Handling & Advocacy Clinic provided valuable insights into the consumer
protection framework, using a compelling St Lucia case study and assistance from their guest advocates.
Attendees benefited from an in-depth overview of consumer complaints handling, emphasizing the benefits of implementing a structured Complaints Process, including data gathering, investigations, and reporting.
Furthermore, the event highlighted the vital role of consumer advocacy under the Consumer Protection Act. Participants gained essential knowledge on identifying and analyzing problems, formulating proposals, and influencing decision-making processes. The clinic promoted the design of effective advocacy strategies and the discovery of channels of influence.
“We are thrilled with the success of the Complaints Handling & Advocacy Clinic and would like to thank all participants for their active engagement and support,” said Mr. Cleville Mills, President of the Dominica Consumer Protection Association. “This event has further assured us of our commitment to safeguarding consumer rights and promoting fair practices within the marketplace.”
The Dominica Consumer Protection Association extends an invitation to the public to join the association’s future events, workshops, and initiatives aimed at empowering consumers and fostering ethical business conduct.
