Young Vets emerged victorious on Sunday, October 18, 2020, in the Women’s Festival which was held at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium. The Young Vets outclassed 10 other clubs en route to lifting the title. In the finals, Young Vets defeated New Generation FC by two goals to nil on penalty kicks after the encounter ended one all.

Romelcia Phillip with four goals was the leading scorer. A total of 11 clubs participated in the one-day festival.

Meanwhile, Happi Bath Estate FC and WE United FC have booked their spots in the quarterfinal stage of the 2020 Dominica Football Association’s Recovery Cup knock out competition.

In the first of two matches played on Saturday at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium, Bath Estate FC came from behind to register three goals to two victory over East Central FC.

National player Reon Cuffy scored two early goals to put his club on top in the early stages. However, it was national player, Julian Wade, playing his first local game on home soil in nearly 10 years, who stole the spotlight. Wade, who has plied his trade in several Caribbean countries, showed his class as he scored all three goals for his club to earn that all-important win.

In the afternoon’s second game, Lennon Bannis and Randell Coipel scored one goal each as WE United FC got the better of Belfast Estate Mahaut Soca Strikers FC by two goals to nil.
